Bringing Your Future Spouse Home to America
The K-1 Fiancé(e) Visa allows U.S. citizens to bring their foreign-born partner to the United States for the purpose of marriage. At Yesildal Law, we guide couples through every step of the petition process — so you can focus on your future together rather than the paperwork.
Who Qualifies for the K-1 Visa?
The K-1 Visa is available to U.S. citizens who are legally free to marry and have met their foreign-born fiancé(e) in person within the past two years. The couple must intend to marry within 90 days of the fiancé(e)’s arrival in the United States.
The Petition & Consular Process
The U.S. citizen files Form I-129F to initiate the K-1 process. Once approved by USCIS, the petition is forwarded to the National Visa Center and then to the U.S. Embassy in the fiancé(e)’s home country for a consular interview. Our attorneys prepare a thorough petition package and guide both partners through every stage.
After Arrival — Marriage & Adjustment of Status
Once the fiancé(e) arrives in the U.S., the couple must marry within 90 days. After marriage, the foreign spouse may apply for Adjustment of Status to obtain a green card. We seamlessly handle both the K-1 petition and the subsequent green card application to ensure a smooth transition.
