Your American Education Journey Starts Here
The F-1 Student Visa allows international students to pursue academic studies at accredited U.S. colleges, universities, and language programs. At Yesildal Law, we help students navigate the visa application process, maintain their status, and explore opportunities to work and build a future in the United States.
Who Qualifies for the F-1 Visa?
The F-1 Visa is available to international students who have been accepted by a SEVP-certified academic institution in the United States. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover tuition and living expenses, strong ties to their home country, and a clear intent to pursue a full course of study.
Maintaining Your F-1 Status
F-1 students must maintain a full course load, make satisfactory academic progress, and work only within the limits authorized by their visa. Violations of F-1 status can have serious immigration consequences. Our attorneys advise students on how to protect their status throughout their academic career.
OPT, STEM Extension & Path Forward
Upon graduation, F-1 students may apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) — up to 12 months of work authorization in their field of study. STEM graduates may qualify for a 24-month OPT extension. We help students maximize these opportunities and explore pathways to long-term immigration status
